That sleeping bigfoot pic..

I heard about that picture in 2005 from Gregg Clay.  According to my notes, he said you could see the creature breathing.  He did not say that it stood up and walked away.  I think he said the battery in the video camera cuts out before anything real interesting can be revealed.

He agreed with me that such a thing would be rather convenient to someone wanting to create a hoax.

I know this is a newspaper picture of a video grab, but taking what Gregg said in 2005, I can't believe that I'm going to be any more convinced by the actual video.

My feeling all along has been that there was plenty of evidence of a hoax, so the videos must be very good, in my mind, to get beyond that.

I keep thinking about the day I watched the now-destroyed video of a creature that looked every bit a costumed human walking with an exaggerated arm swing.  I remember how the witness kept pointing to the video and saying, "see the muscle movement?  Right there!"  No matter how many times he said it, I never did see it.  I don't think there ever was any muscle movement apparent in that video.

Now where would he have gotten the idea of muscle movement?  From bigfoot researchers, of course. We talk about the movement apparent in the Patterson/Gimlin film all the the time.

Now, let's say that it was a human in a suit.  Let that suit get a little more dirty, so the fur clumps up, and that could be what you are looking at right there.

Now why would the fur be dirty and clumped when it had before been, as I noted at the time, so clean and well groomed as to suggest the creature (if it were a real creature) lived a much better life than we had imagined?  Well, because I pointed out right then and there that it sure did look clean and well groomed, and how unusual that would be.

How many hoaxers worth their salt would miss a great tip like that?

You can't see color in the picture because it's from a newspaper, but I would just point out how every hair seems to be the same pigment.

Just like the creature in the destroyed video.

And just like a suit.
